When asked, Jesus declared that “Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength,” as the greatest commandment. You should relize that the communal worship of believers embodies this command.

When believers assemble, we sing and play music to praise and honor God. Nothing touches the emotions more than music. With our songs we display loving the Lord our God with all our heart.

Public prayer is also a mainstay of corporate worship. Prayer, whether public or private, is our reaching out to God with our souls to commune with our Creator.

And what is church without scripture reading and exposition by the preacher. We have to take this message and comprehend it and to see how to apply it. In short, we have to meditate, or think, on God’s word. We must use our minds.

Finally, consider the Eucharist, or what is also called the Lord’s Supper. Here we are physically taking in bread and wine that represents the body and blood of our Lord into our bodies, in an act of gratitude and love.

Whenever believers gather to sing, pray, mediate on scripture, and take the Eucharist, we are worshiping Him and loving Him with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength, our complete being and in doing so we are following the greatest commandment.
